My friend said that it is fine to try illegal drugs as long as you will not continuously use it. This is why he keeps on persuading me to puff some marijuana. However, I told him that a small amount of illicit substance would be very harmful for the body. Besides, it will lead to even bigger problem and greater addiction. I want to convince my friend using factual info, but I am not so sure about the stages of substance use. Can you help me?

Since lead quickly gets metabolized out of the bloodstream, are there other ways of quantifying it?

Chaucer asked:

Will hair or fingernails adequately display lead content in a person, if you were trying to determine how much lead had been introduced into their system over the preceding few months, as opposed to days (which is all that blood tests can show)?

Also, how is a person’s cumulative lead exposure determined, if at all?
Wrong. Lead doesn’t last in the bloodstream for more than a few days, because it quickly deposits in the organs and bone, where it becomes undectable by ordinary blood tests.
